Hi, I’m Heather!

Birth is a hugely transformational time in a person’s life, and it’s work that requires respect. I held many roles prior to birthwork, including Wilderness Expedition Guide. In that position, I led folks through adventures like backpacking, rock climbing, and white water rafting. I saw people push past their fears and limitations, and emerge on the other side stronger, braver, and more certain of their power.

The journey of pregnancy and birth is equally (and often more) challenging. Walking alongside a birthing person as they move beyond their limits is my honor and privilege. A person doesn’t need to be athletic or outdoorsy to give birth, but you do need perseverance, a willingness to work hard, and an openness to the idea that you are so much stronger than you ever knew. Labor summons a deep power from within, and you need people around you who believe in your innate capacity to give birth, and who are tuned in and focused on you.

Through the birth of my two children, I learned that knowledge is power, and there are some things you just can’t prepare for. It helps to have someone in the room who is vigilantly conscious of your experience, and actively elevating your voice.

My mission is to educate and inspire parents so they can experience trust, love, and respect through the birth process. I motivate, embrace, and encourage folks with fun, humor, and confidence so they feel less fear, and have more trust in themselves.
